Reading is important... but what are you reading

As an author, I want people to read my words. Unfortunately, many Christians spend more time in fiction than they do in the Word of God. While many Christian authors like myself strive to write fiction that is spiritually uplifting, it is not a replacement for the Bible.
Christians are commanded to "Keep thy heart with all diligence..." (Proverbs 4:23)
If we are to keep our hearts, it will involve doing the things that would protect it from danger.
  • Psalm 119 tells us that we should Read the Scripture
  • II Timothy tells us to Run from Sin
  • Finally James tells us that we should Respond with Supplication
  • Most of all, however, we should always Rely on the Savior, because it is only through Him we can have victory.
Before you settle down with a good book, make sure you have settled down with the Good Book.
Charles H. Spurgeon said it best; “Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.”
