Personally, I like e-books. Ever since my wife bought me a Kindle for Christmas back in 2011, I have been slowly moving my library to an e-book library. (This can be frustrating for a person who likes to re-read a good book to have to re-purchase it as an e-book, but whatever it takes...)
However, I know that there are many out there that have not succumbed to the dark-side of reading, and are holding on to their print books with vigor...

Who are you lifting?

"Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth." (I Corinthians 8:1)

Have you ever done a pull-up? It's not easy to pick yourself up, but with a little training you can do it.

Have you ever picked someone else up? Same thing, not easy, but possible.

What is next to impossible though is to pick someone else up off the ground WHILE you are doing a pull up.

Charity is love; our job is to love people by edifying them... What does it mean to edify them? It means lifting THEM up. We can't do that while lifting ourselves up, when we are too busy showcasing our talents and abilities to encourage them in theirs.

Most of us spend way too much time wanting to lift ourselves up; call it pride, narcissism, whatever the label, the end result is that as long as we are doing that, we are not doing our job. We can only lift others up while we have our feet planted firmly on the ground.
